Ferrari F430

With a new 4.3 litre V8 engine, the Ferrari F430 produces a whopping 483 brake horsepower, that converts to a nought to sixty time of just four seconds and if you keep your foot to the floor and go through the new 6-speed ‘F1′ electrohydraulic manual gearbox, the revometer will climb to the 8,600 rpm redline and you will quite quickly reach a staggering 196 mph. However, what is the use of all that power if you can’t transfer it to the track? Don’t worry, the F430 has a heavily modified version of the 360 Modena chassis, stiffer to cope with the horsepower increase and with a new tricky diff to make sure all that extra power transfers smoothly to the tarmac. Many thought the 360 Modena couldn’t get any better, well it certainly has in the form of the F430.

Ferrari California

Using the same engine as the F430, you would think the California would be left in the wake by its svelte sibling, however those clever boffins at Ferrari played around with the bore and stroke and surprisingly, although weighing a massive 300 kgs more and producing 30 bhp less, the California still goes from 0 – 60 in just 4 seconds. Exactly the same as the F430.The California may contain a number of firsts for Ferrari, but it certainly is all Ferrari. At first glance it will set your pulse racing and when you slip into the beautifully upholstered leather seats you will soon come to understand why this marque is so sought after. Push the start button and the V8 bursts into life with a grumbling growl, but it’s on the straights as you push to the 8000 rpm redline that the engine howls with delight. This truly is a stunning supercar.

Ferrari 458 Italia

Revving to a 9,000 rpm redline the 458 Italia provides a driving soundtrack that has to be heard to be believed, but it’s not just a shouty supercar, it has performance figures that turn most manufacturers green with envy. With 562 brake horsepower, the Ferrari Italia launches from a standing start to sixty miles per hour in a paltry 3.4 seconds and if you’ve got the bottle the speedo will eventually register over 200 mph. With the performance of the 458 Italia it’s easy to see why the only place to experience this phenomenal piece of Italian engineering is the race track. Precise steering and a huge amount of grip mean that the Italia eats tarmac faster than you can imagine, leaving you wanting more with every turn and straight. A truly magnificent supercar in every sense.

The Experience

The Ultimate Ferrari Experience offers the lucky recipient of this voucher the chance to drive the Ferrari 360 Modena, then to choose two other stunning supercars from the Ferrari California, the Ferrari F430 or the Ferrari 458 Italia. A must for any fan of the Scuderia.

Ferrari 360 Modena

With its 3.6 V8 40 valve engine, 400 bhp and a seductive exhaust note, the Ferrari 360 Modena is a true classic of the Ferrari stable. Featuring the first aluminium spaceframe chassis, the 360 set the standard for future Ferraris when it came to handling, 40% lighter than steel, yet 30% stiffer the Modena comes alive on the track. 0 – 60 in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph also add to the appeal of this most iconic supercar.

Ferrari F430

The F430 is the replacement for the 360 Modena and although it shares a modified version of the Chassis with its sibling, that’s really where the similarities end. A new 4.3-litre V8 powerplant, F1 style gearbox and a new diff give the F430 performance figures and a poise on the track that it’s smaller relation can only dream of, 0 – 60 has been trimmed back to a flat four seconds and the top speed has been upped to an impressive 196 mph.

Ferrari California

The Ferrari California certainly ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to firsts, it’s the first tin top cabriolet Ferrari have produced, the first front engined V8 and the first to take advantage of a new seven-speed twin clutch. Powered by the same engine as the F430 the California may weigh in 300 kgs heavier than its sibling, but those clever boffins at Ferrari have fiddled with the bore and the stroke and the result is an exact same 0 – 60 time of 4 seconds although the top end does suffer slightly at 193 mph, hardly a slouch by any means though.

Ferrari 458 Italia

The F430 was obviously going to be a hard act to follow, but the 458 Italia seems to outperform it in every department. With much more F1 technology incorporated into the design of the 458 the performance on the track will leave you breathless, from a standing start the 562 bhp, 4.5 litre V8 will rocket you from 0 – 60 mph in a measly 3.4 seconds and if you flick right through the 7-speed Dual-Clutch transmission and reach the 9,000 rpm redline the 458 Italia finally tops out at 202 mph.

The Ultimate Ferrari Experience begins with a technical and safety briefing followed by some instructor driven familiarisation laps (Thrill only), here you will learn the circuit lines and car positioning, then it’s out onto the track where you will get behind the wheel of the Ferrari 360 Modena, followed by your choice of two other fantastic Ferraris.
