Audi R8 - V10

The new Audi R8 V10 is an evolution of the much vaunted V8 that was first launched way back in 2006, so, was the German company right to tinker with such a firm favourite? Well if the plaudits that the new V10 has received are to be believed then the answer is a firm yes.

Powered by the same V10 lump that sits in the Lamborghini Huracan, the new R8 transfers its 533 brake horsepower to the track via a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch gearbox and an updated quattro four-wheel drive system. This allows this stunning supercar to eclipse its smaller V8 sibling when it comes to performance. 0 – 60 comes to you in a little less than 3.5 seconds and it breaks the 200 mph mark when it comes to its top speed.

With this level of performance the only way to really appreciate this cars capabilities are on the race track. The updated quattro four-wheel drive system sticks the R8 to the surface like glue allowing the driver to negotiate hairpin bends and sweeping bends with gusto and once out of the corners and on to the straight, flick through the seven speed twin-clutch gearbox and wonder at this fantastic supercars awesome acceleration.

“This thing is phenomenal… The handling is pretty epic as well”
